About Okiino

In March 2014, were on a surf trip in Mexico. We arrived to epic conditions and surfed until sunset. The next day our sunburnt legs and bums couldn't handle any more sun. We threw on our yoga leggings and paddled out. Although we felt protected, the fit and fabric weren't ideal. By the last day, we noticed other women wearing their leggings in the water. They said they were getting burnt and were inspired by our solution. That's when we knew there was a need. We spent over a year researching and developing our product. Surfers, yogis, and waterwomen tested our leggings on adventures around the world. The result is the ultimate multi-functional leggings that effortlessly take you from sea to street to studio. In July 2015, we officially launched OKIINO through an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign and received overwhelming support from contributors in 14 countries around the world.
OKIINO comes from the Japanese word meaning "the land that fronts the open sea."
